Sample Schedule

7a Morning vinyasa practice

Wake up in the morning and walk into the breathtaking yoga shala surrounded by Costa Rican jungle. Listen to tropical birds and monkeys as we partake in a 90-minute morning vinyasa for all-levels and all bodies.

8:30 - 9:30a Quiet morning breakfast

Included in your retreat package, enjoy a locally-sourced, organic breakfast made fresh to order. Some of Nomadic’s featured breakfasts are banana pancakes, huevos rancheros, and slaw torta or the ‘Costa Rican Typical’ (eggs your way, gallo pinto served with plantain, fried Cotija cheese & rosemary chickpea bread).

In the rhythm of a yogic morning, we will observe quietude for reflection. Enjoy your breakfast, immerse yourself in your breathtaking surroundings, and soften into your day after our vinyasa flow.

11a Group activity

We have a handful of group excursions as well as some immersive classes planned. One is attending a world-renowned surf class. We will learn how to make fresh cuisine in a local Costa Rican cooking class. We will fly over the Costa Rican jungle on the country’s longes zip line. On other days, Damian will guide a class on the history of the yoga, mantra, and meditation technique. We will work to honor both land and locals while we stay.

1:30p Lunch & free time

Nosara has so much to offer and it is yours to explore. Want to check out some boutique stores or taste some local cuisine? Want to lay on the beach or practice more yoga? This time is yours to indulge. Walk slowly. Savor every moment.

5:30p Dinner

We will sit around a candelit, family-style table at the Nomadic, savoring a 3-course meal prepared by our retreat’s private specialty chef, hand selected by the Nomadic. Share stories, hear unique perspectives, and make unforgettable connections.

8p Yin

Yin yoga is a time to rest & digest from the exciting paradise you are participating in. Make a conscious effort to slow down the body. Draw a bolster under the spine or elevate the feet. Listen to the poetics of the yoga. Allow the bones to soften into the muscle. And find a handful of restorative postures and moonlit meditation before a deep, restorative sleep.

— suggested sobriety

Yoga is a sacred medicine, and this retreat is an immersive, full-body healing. To receive its most transformative benefits, the recommendation is to observe sobriety for your time here in Nosara.

Rather than the practice being an exercise for clearing and undoing toxins from the night before, try keeping the body as clear as possible. Purify the mind to download intuitive messaging and hold the purest space for your heart to speak to you. When else will you get the opportunity to be surrounded by such elemental beauty? To be fed medicinal, locally sourced food, or swim in the beauty of the ocean? Surrounded by gentle community deep in their own healing process?

That said — we are all adults, and what you do in your free time is totally up to you!

About your teacher:

Two men sharing an intimate moment, with one man gently resting his head on the other's shoulder and both appearing to smile softly.

Damian Joseph Quinn (she/they/he) has been rescued by yoga. From a meditative moment of bliss in P90X’s Yoga X video at 12 years old, Damian has since pursued a life oriented around the magic in the mundane and the truth of life beyond the monotony we are all perscribed.

Damian graduated from 200hr YTT with Shivakali Yoga in the California Redwoods in 2019. They furthered their practice in Bali, Indonesia, completing their 500hr YTT.

Damian has since taken the yoga to Hong Kong, Thailand, Ecuador, Honduras, New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Brazil and Costa Rica, to name a few.

Faith oriented them towards backpacking South America for 2024. What began as a one-way ticket to Colombia transformed into 3 months abroad, climbing vines in the Amazon Rainforest, meditating with Peruvian shamans, performing in Buenos Aires and dancing samba in Rio de Janeiro.

Dame feels most expansive when traveling. From their travels, they are eager to remind us that the world is pure, humanity is kind, and that NOW is the time to embrace life.

Currently, Damian is teaching English and producing online yoga classes in Shin’Onsen, Hyogo, Japan. Here, Damian teaches yoga to the middle school band and local Hamasaka community.

  • This yoga retreat was the deep medicine and healing experience I didn't know I desperately needed. I find my energy restored, my health in a great place, and my inner mind calmed after completing the retreat. Damian is a healer, an emotional doula, and one kickass yoga teacher. They facilitate a beautiful program that will leave you buzzing with joy and contentment. I hope to go again and cannot recommend the experience enough!

  • I came home from this beautiful yoga retreat with Damian floating on a cloud. I’ve been doing my very best to carry that yoga practice and mindset with me since I’ve been home. I had never done anything like this trip before but decided to say yes to it. I am so grateful that I did. What a wonderful gift to myself! I landed in Costa Rica only knowing a couple of people on the retreat and left with 12 new friends. It’s hard to put into words what this experience was like. Yes, we did yoga. And it was beautiful. And, you couldn’t ask for a more magical teacher than Dame. But, we also laughed, reflected, shared, cried, loved, surfed, walked, swam, watched sunsets, told stories, made stories. I can’t wait to do it again. Thank you, Dame. What a gift this trip was. If you’re thinking about doing this, say yes. You’ll thank yourself later, I promise you. 💜✨🌺

  • I can't express enough how beautiful this experience was. Damian provides a safe, inclusive space for all beings. I was able to be vulnerable and brave. I was supported by beautiful, kind, funny, strong, unbelievably talented, and authentic people who I am so grateful I can call my friends. This friendship and support continues after we left Costa Rica. My belly is sore from laughing and my heart has cracked wide open from this experience.

  • Damian’s Yoga retreat was nothing less than amazing. Every detail was accounted for: group shuttles to/from the airport, beautiful lodging, nutritious meals, interesting and fun activities, massage, tarot readings and of course the daily yoga. Even before arrival, Damian emailed information and questionnaires to keep us informed and learn about us and what we needed. Damian’s classes were all unique and the perfect balance of strengthening, stretching, relaxing and some laughing! Damian truly has a gift for teaching yoga and helping his students get in tune with their bodies. Every day with our group was a GIFT. Learning to surf for the first time in my life (at age 51!) was definitely a highlight! The town of Nosara is lovely and everyone is so friendly. We came from all across the USA, but left as a cohesive group and forever friends. THANK YOU to everyone for your vulnerability, grace, kindness and love; especially Damian, who exudes authenticity and love in every aspect of life. Pura Vida! 💜

  • In these uncertain times, Damian cultivated an experience of safety, connection, and vulnerability . This retreat provided the ability to learn, rest, grow, dance, laugh, cry, flow; providing comfort to step out of the comfortable. The beauty of Costa Rica and all the people I had the privilege to meet are held sacred in my heart until next time. My gratitude for Dame and the beauty and magic they have brought into my life knows no limit. Pura Vida!

  • Full jungle and wellness immersion awaits in Nosara! Coming back home to nature healed me in unexpected ways. The energy of the town, the yoga shala, and the group was palpable. I felt seen and loved by strangers who now hold a special place in my heart forever.
